12/11 The Zombie Apocalypse Problem

Pascal's Triangle Project
Each group must turn in:

  1. A regular Pascal's Triangle - one for each group member, with
    1. The total of each row pattern with formula
    2. The triangular numbers identified
    3. The Fibonacci sequence identified
    4. The Seirpinski Triangle identified.
  2. A drawing of the Triangular Numbers, with formula
  3. The Pascal's Triangle variation for your group (one for each group member), with
    1. A constant function identified (with rule)
    2. A linear function identified (with rule)
    3. A quadratic function identified (with rule)
    4. A cubic function identified
    5. A quartic function identied (with rule - if you have four members) - One of the polynomial functions must be found with regression, one must be found with matrices.  Please write out the steps for finding these.
    6. A piecewise function describing the row totals
  4. All you results should be combined onto one poster.  Due Monday 1/27.

Trigonometry TASC Project Due -

1) Choice 1: Prove Heron's formula for Area of a Triangle.  Present during TASC
2) Choice 2: Prove Law of Cosine's.  Present during TASC
3) Choice 3: Program a TI-Rover to draw an ASA, SAS, or AAS triangle and have it report back the area (much like we did for the SSS case last Friday).

When you are done, you will write a report using "Instructions for Written Reports".  The reports (also due 12/13) will be evaluated using the Critical Thinking Strand of the School Wide Rubric (CTSWR), which is on the back of the "instructions for written reports."  You will have permission to take pictures of your proofs, your code and/or your Rover drawings for adding to your reports.  Enjoy!
