    Unit 1: Integer Arithmetic and Patterns and Functions

    Objective: This week we will continue our our unit on Patterns and Functions. We will continue to work on the skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of positive and negative numbers, as well as combining like terms and distributive property. We will extend what we know into order of operations and problem solving.

    Essential Question: How do we add, subtract, multiply, and divide negative numbers?

    The big picture: Percent increase and decrease problems can be extended to model problems such as car value over time, and money in the bank.
