This Week in Algebra 1A

ReplyDeleteUnit 3: Descriptive Statistics

Objective: This week we will begin our unit on descriptive statistics. Students will learn to compute summary statistics for numerical and non-numerical variables, as well as create graphs to describe univariate and bivariate data. For bivariate data, we will study some different methods for determining if an association exists between the two variables (numerical or non-numerical).

Essential Questions: 1)What are the four key elements to properly describe a numerical data set?

2) How do we determine if two categorical variables are related?
